ZECWallet Infrastructure Upgrade Will Happen From The Old Grant

The ZECWallet infrastructure upgrade will happen from the old grants as the platform is now currently accepting any kinds of grants. They are waiting for the formation of the Major Grant Review Committee to get some of the guidance in the process of the future grant strategy as we are reading more in the ZEC news.

It’s important to clarify that the ZECWallet infrastructure will be funded from the previous Foundation grant. Since the previous grant was approved, the wallet launched their mobile apps and further improved their lite clients to a vast extent. This in turn improved the usage of ZecWallet as it is creating a strain on the wallet’s cloud infra for the lite clients. Therefore, this is considered important to upgrade the ZECwallet cloud infrastructure into a set up which is available with load balancing and the failovers across data centers. This ensures that the users have an uninterrupted way to access their Zcash coins at all times. The ZECWallet tweeted:

The lite client requires a few pieces of software infrastructure and all of these will be running on the cloud. The infra is in the primary-secondary setup in one single region of AWS which is to ensure cost optimization. This approach will lead to random infra failures in the cloud. Sydney Ifergan tweeted:

The new upgrade approach is to run a few redundant instances of Zcash. This will be the forefront of multiple redundant instances of the Lightwallet. Furthermore, the upgrade will be run across multiple AWS regions with load balancing and failovers across multiple datacenters. This will be done to remove the single point failures. To ensure the additional infra across the AWS regions and the SSL Certs, there will have to be improvements to the infrastructure and further will be deploying it. This is expected to reduce downtime for the ZECWallet users permitting uninterrupted access for the users to their ZEC Wallets.

Zcash shielded addresses and transaction data like the sender and receiver data and the sent amount are encrypted. This means that despite the transactions that get verified, there’s no person able to see the data of these transactions.
