The privacy features offered by Zcash are now wanted by a lot of big names in the industry, after the reports showed that Zcash and its blockchain is getting more popular among crypto fans and companies. This is why the Zcash Alliance wants to bring the privacy tech to Bitcoin (BTC) as the largest coin, hoping that everyone could see the shared benefits.
“It is humbling and inspiring that such a strong group of builders is leaning in to push that mission forward and help guide the future of Zcash,” privacy coin co-founder Zooko Wilcox said in a press statement.
Moreover, the Electric Coin Company (ECC) announced Monday as the official launch of the Zcash Developers Alliance (ZDA) which is an invite-only working group that includes the Lighting Network startup named Bolt Labs, the cross-chain tech startup Thesis, the ETH conglomerate ConsenSys and many other vocal names.
“The ZDA is an attempt to introduce a way to collaborate with the ECC, and the Zcash ecosystem, which focuses around other people’s priorities,” Iqlusion founder Zaki Manian said. “Product-market fit is other people [beyond fans and founders] actually caring about it.”
People discussed and said that Zcash Alliance wants to bring the privacy feature to BTC, mostly because its “anonymity set” is a “new valuable public good,” where the people explained how the privacy coin allows shielded transactions and the construct which allows individual transactions to get lost in the metaphorical crowd.
Even the CEO of ConsenSys Joseph Lubin stepped in and said that “it feels like it’s time for a Zcash-Ethereum bridge” in his press statement. What is important right now as the Zcash Alliance wants to include BTC is the topic of integration.
Basically, other blockchains can freely connect to the ZEC ecosystem and enable staking without revealing personally identifying information. This would shield the BTC users when stepping into the Zcash blockchain, all while helping them benefit from all of the privacy coin features.
As some reports in the Zcash news show, the Ethereum Foundation is already researching for potential ways to use the privacy options for ETH 2.0, which is the network’s recent overhaul.
