Elon Musk denies the rumors that he is building something on the Ethereum blockchain, a year after the famous Hollywood actor William Shatner said that Vitalik and Musk are plotting to create something on Ethereum. In our Ethereum latest news, we find out more about the situation.
The Tesla CEO refuted the rumors but he said that he has nothing against the network. The Canadian actor was quite supportive of the blockchain and cryptocurrencies in the past. Aside from releasing his own non-fungible token, he also tweeted a year ago that “my friend Vitalik Buterin and Elon Musk are trying to decide what to build on the Ethereum blockchain. I’ve been waiting and waiting.” It took more than a year for Musk to address these rumors but yesterday he finally explained. Elon Musk denies the rumors and assumptions that he will utilize the ETH Blockchain for future projects and said that he is not “for or against it.” Shatner commented later on the lateness of his response by saying that “the reply only took a year. I still love you even though you haven’t found blockchain technology fascinating.”
Cryptonians! My friends @VitalikButerin & @ElonMusk were trying to decide what to build on @Ethereum. I’ve been waiting & waiting 🙄 I finally decided to do something myself. Join me! 😘 Bill 👉🏻https://t.co/S8A6lAjapU #MCC2019 #blockchainweeknyc #atomicswapnyc @mattereum pic.twitter.com/NEd8MSVwHC

The billionaire who vowed to sell most of his physical possessions has a very interesting history with the cryptocurrency field, especially with Bitcoin. One of the bizarre remarks that he also made earlier this year was in a tweet saying that Bitcoin “is not my safe word.” However, his statement remains unexplained, as he appeared in a podcast right after and offered more views on the primary cryptocurrency.
Despite claiming at first that he is neither here nor there on Bitcoin but he noted eventually when he first saw the whitepaper, he thought it was very clever. He didn’t see why Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency will serve as a replacement for cash soon but he did acknowledge that they will have a huge role and impact on the markets in the digitalization phase. Musk revealed how much BTC he holds when he commented in a post about Harry Potter author J.K Rowling, explaining that “massive currency issuance by govt central banks is making Bitcoin Internet money solid by comparison” as the Tesla CEO commented that “I still only own 0.25 bitcoins.”
