Lindsey Lohan ditches Bitcoin as she was diving into Defi for the past day and even praised Tron as we are reading more in today’s TRX news.
Lindsey Lohan ditches bitcoin and congratulated Tron’s founder Justin Sun for doing a good job with DeFi. Tron made a play to get developers away from the ETH network but the development metrics are stagnant as per a report. The actress and artist Lindsey Lohan auctioned off an ETH-based NFT on the digital collectible marketplace Rarible after predicting that the demand will go to the moon. In the next 24 hours, a few of her 8.4 million Twitter followers pointed out that bitcoin is not Ethereum which is where the NFTs reside alongside the entire DeFi applications space that allows people to lend funds, earn interest, and swap assets without going through a financial institution. Lohan then posted on Twitter:
“Exploring #DeFi and already liking $JST, $SUN on $TRX. Super fast and 0 fee. Good job @justinsuntron”

Tron entered as a strong ETH competitor and boasts on the ability to process about 100x more transactions than ETH. The 66 Ethereum protocols tracked by DeFi Pulse have about $40 billion in value locked into them which is an indicator that shows how widely they are used. This represents a record 100% increase during the first week of January. Tron tried to get in on this and Sun wrote:
“We are creating the same kind of DeFi ecosystem as Ethereum. All the Ethereum network products, you can see a same version of Tron products. For example, the MakerDAO on Tron is called JustStable, created by the JUST team. And UniSwap is called JustSwap.”
Welcome to #TRON family! Show me your #TRX address 😊 I may send you something😉

However, according to a report by VC company Outlier Ventures, Tron is in decline:
“Ethereum killers Tron, EOS, Komodo, and Qtum are seeing a decrease in core development metrics.”
Tron had lost plenty of its developers last year which is a sign that DeFi offerings are not really translating to the increased interest in the network. Sun and Tron also attracted plenty of attention for the wrong reasons. Sun was accused of plagiarizing the ETH whitepaper and even Bram Cohen, the creator of BitTorrent accused Sun of withholding payments for the acquisition. Tron’s marketing emphasized that there are several people wondering whether Lohan was paid to post for Tron while Justin Sun wrote back saying “I May send you something” with a blink emoji at the end.
