Rarible NFT Marketplace Integrates The Tezos Blockchain

The Rarible NFT marketplace now supports three blockchains including the latest addition of the Tezos blockchain. Rarible integrated Tezos and in a blog post the team stated that the latest integration will enable users to buy, sell and create energy-efficient NFTs that will cost a few cents only. Tezos allows for a much faster and cheaper process with a few times more efficient transactions than Ethereum as the most popular public blockchain because of its Proof of Stake Consensus. Tezos’s features were the main reason that this blockchain gained traction for NFTs in gaming and arts.

In the announcement, Rarible outlined that various features offered by Tezos fostered a quite passionate NFT community. Earlier this month, the French giant Ubisoft leveraged Tezos to launch Quartz which is a feature that allows players to acquire in-game NFTs dubbed Digits. With today’s integration, Rarible said it will support the secondary sales for Digits. Tezos is the third blockchain that Rarible integrated as the underlying infrastructure for the NFT marketplace. In the meantime, its top competitor OpenSea supports only Polygon and Ethereum.

Rarible commented that more blockchains could be integrated in the future for a bigger cross-chain push and to celebrate the Tezos integration, the team revealed an exclusive Tezos community drop.

Ubisoft is the maker of the popular games Assassin Creed and Prince of Persia. It recently announced that its Ubisoft Quartz platform will enable players to buy and win in-game items which are minted as Tezos NFTs with the digital tokens representing ownership of the asset. The NFTs will make their first appearance in the Tom Clancy Ghost Recon Breakpoint. The integration of NFTs will increase the feeling of investment players have in the game while they are preparing the groundwork for interoperability between the secondary markets and games to profit off rare items. Tezos’s coin price could be further abetted by the announcement later made contending that the blockchain increased its transaction energy efficiency by 70% and it will cost less to send and receive XTZ or make other transactions on the network like buying NFTs that it did in the past.
