Mike Shinoda as the founding member of Linkin Park, announced that he will publish a new music project as an NFT series called Ziggurats. The collection consists of 5000 mini mixtapes that will be launched on Tezos by December 3rd.
ZIGGURATS is a music+art release, available as NFT & on streaming. The NFTs are in "profile pic" style. When you mint one, you get a randomly generated character as your "album cover." Here are some closeups of some of the possibilities.

NFTs or non-fungible tokens have long been praised for their possible use case in music but the industry so far hasn’t seen a project take real advantage of the technology. However, Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda recognized the potential of the technology and will release his own NFT collection. The musician announced that he will publish new music as a generative NFT series called Ziggurats with 5000 mini mixtapes that will be released on Tezos each one with its own unique music and cover art.
Each NFT in the Ziggurats series will feature songs with the same lyrics but a different cover art and music. What will make this series unique is the fact that the combination of music and art will actually be generated by a computer algorithm based on the preselected inputs:
“I liked the idea of a program taking elements and mixing-and-matching to create different outputs. Creating collectible pieces—each one unique. But I wanted to do it with music.”
According to a report from XTZ.news, the series will be sold on the website dubbed ziggurats.xyz with each NFT going for 16 xtz or below $75 with current prices on the market. A version of the song will be available on streaming services for users that don’t want to purchase an NFT.
As recently reported, Mike Shinoda was intrigued by the concept of blockchain art and wants to produce many more NFTs. Gradually more visual artists decided to migrate over to the NFTs as their preferred method of distribution. Linkin Park songwriter Mike Shinoda announced on Twitter that his first piece of NFT art was completed and called One-Hundredth Stream which dropped on the Zora auction site a day ago.
