The XRP army wants to fight the SEC via Joe Rogan’s podcast after they asked the host to have Attorney John Deaton appear on his show so let’s read further in today’s Ripple XRP news.
In an attempt to fight the SEC and its recent dealings, the XRP army wants to try another strategy with the help of Joe Rogan who has the most popular podcast in the world and by hosting attorney John Deton on the show. Deaton Is a prominent figure in the SEC lawsuit against Ripple and he is known for his role in enacting Amicus Curiae or “friend of the court” for 65,000 XRP holders which allow investors an opportunity to voice their concerns in court:
“[Amicus Curiae refers to] A non-party with an interest in the outcome of a pending lawsuit who argues or presents information in support of or against one of the parties to the lawsuit.”
The XRP army wants Joe Rogan to interview John Deaton but this depends on gathering enough support. The US SEC regulator brought legal action against Ripple in December 2020 over the allegations it sold $1.3 billion of unregistered securities over the past seven years. The lawsuit continued in the pre-trial phase and it became apparent that the SEC didn’t act impartially. The main argument was focused on the agency picking winners and losers by treating XRP being security while giving ETH and BTC a pass. Tied with this was a litany of subpoints and this includes the links former acting SEC Director Marc Berger has with the ETH Enterprise Alliance and former SEC Director William Hinman who backtracked on a speech where he said BTC and ETH are not securities.
Hinman now says this comment was his personal opinion and should have not been taken as regulatory guidance. Attorney Deaton however won’t be short of conversation if he makes the podcast appearance. However, making this requires more supporters to contact Rogan’s team. Over the years, Rogan conversed with plenty of high-profile individuals in his podcast show and the result is a catalog of compelling content that very few can match. As it is often the case, Rogan’s comments are often taken out of context and he is known to often enter into feuds online for not taking one side or the other. Despite losing the number one podcast position on Spotify, the Joe Rogan Experience still reached 11 million people recently, per one episode.
