In our latest crypto news, a couple of photos have emerged directly from Israel – where one bank apparently does not want its users to purchase the altcoin Monero (XMR). We are talking about Leumi Bank – a local Israeli bank that has been active for years and is among the leading banks in the country.
In this new case, the bank’s initiative went to a point when they actually started printing out pieces of paper with signs ‘Don’t buy Monero’, advising people to skip buying the Monero (XMR) and spreading the stickers all over its locations.
There are even some users on Reddit that are commenting the entire situation around the “Don’t Buy Monero” stickers – but also users that are part of the initiative and are labelling the “Don’t Buy Monero” as an actual meme.
As one user named CanadianCryptoGuy noted:
“I’d be concerned that some people still may not understand the subtle point. There may be grandmothers who have their money in bank accounts, and start to panic that they’re going to lose their money because these “Monero” things are going to destroy the banks.
If a guerrilla campaign is going to rely on sarcasm, it needs to be absolutely crystal clear that it’s sarcasm.

For example, adding one more line to it that says something like, “Do you think it’s safe to give people more control over their own finances?”
The big question is – is Monero (XMR) scaring off banks – or this is only a guerilla tactic that is meant to destroy the Monero trading in Israel?
