In today’s breaking cryptocurrency news, we are talking about a case that struck Norway and the rest of the world. Anne-Elisabeth Falkevik Hagen (68) has been missing since October 31st last year, according to the Norwegian police.
However, as of recently, her husband Tom Hagen (who is 172nd richest person in Norway according to Kapital) has received a new threat under which he needs to pay 9 million Euros to the kidnappers in order for his wife to be released.
The police recently explained why they chose to go public with this information, mostly in order to get more leads and entice the public to help. According to the Norwegian newspaper VG.no, Anne-Elisabeth Falkevik Hagen was attacked in her own bathroom ten weeks ago. However, there are no signs of any forced entry – even though the police found evidence in the house.
As soon as her husband Tom Hagen entered the home, he found a written letter which was written in Norwegian with spelling errors, demanding 9 million Euro ransom to be paid in the cryptocurrency Monero.
The threat note also claimed that Anne-Elisabeth would be murdered if the police got involved. This is why the police believes they are dealing with a kidnapping case.
