As it was stated in the official blog post, the latest Nitrogen Nebula release will come with many bug fixes as well as performance improvements including the verification speed, faster fetching of consecutive transactions, bandwidth reduction, and timelock verification for the Ledger devices. The team also said that the latest release comes with the Dandelion++ support and for all of you that don’t know, this part enhances transaction propagation of the network which will make it impossible for some transactions to be traced to an IP address.
For the users to enjoy this kind of privacy, they will have to own a Dandelion++ compliant node and will have to communicate with other Dandelion++ capable nodes. The team made it clear that there were 49 developers who worked hard to put out the 563 commits that contained 81539 lines of code:
“This release was the direct result of 49 people who worked, largely unpaid and altruistically, to put out 563 commits containing 81539 new lines of code. We’d like to thank them very much for their time and effort.”
The team hinted a new update will be possible for downloads via the command-line interface and the graphical user interface after the release. Despite the regulatory challenges that are pushing hard on cryptocurrencies, Monero’s adoption has been on the rise recently. Bitsa, a Monaco-based crypto startup added support for XMR to its Bitsa Card. Also, the reports emerged that HTC joined forces with Midas Labs to enable XMR mining on cell phones. Monero XMR is now the 16 largest cryptocurrency in the world with a market cap of $1.09 billion.
