The latest LTC core upgrade only shuts down the fears that further development on the project will be going to happen. The developers have now released the project core upgrade dubbed v0.18.1 after months of no active development on the project, as we are reading further in the Litecoin news today.
The latest LTC core upgrade sparked some hope in the investors and users that Litecoin hasn’t actually reached a dead end. The founder of the Litecoin Foundation Charlie Lee, informed that the LTC community that the developers at the project had released the latest version of the Litecoin Core 0.18.1. Lee went on to point out that the release puts to rest all of the allegations and questions whether there is any development going on the project at all. Furthermore, he notified the community that the LTC Core 0.20 was already in the pipeline and its release will only bring the LTC blockchain in line with the latest Bitcoin Core code. You can find more about this on the Twitter page of Charlie Lee.
Litecoin Core 0.18.1 final release is out! Who says Litecoin has no development? 😀
Many thanks to all the developers that worked on this release! 👏
We are already hard at work on the next release, Litecoin Core 0.20, which will bring us in line with the latest Bitcoin Core. https://t.co/JaMq9RcwtR

Regarding the lack of development on the LTC project, Charlie Lee referred to an August 2019 issue where the conversations between Litecoin developers that were leaked on social media platforms and on Reddit. The information contained information pointing out to the lack of progress as the Litecoin project:
“Franklyn: I was extremely disappointed to discover that no progress had been made on CT since the announcement, especially when I stand on stage telling everyone it’s happening and we are actively working on it.
Charlie: The honest truth is that no one is interested in working on Litecoin protocol development work. At least no one technically competent. You can’t just throw money at this problem. This is true for Litecoin since the beginning. It has only been me, Warren, and Thrasher.”
By looking at the charts and using a previous analysis of Litecoin, it is clear that LTC has lagged behind Bitcoin and Ethereum in recovering from the March crash caused by the Coronavirus pandemic. From a macro point of view, LTC/USD was hovering between $38 and $50 since early April. Maybe with the launch of the Litecoin Core 0.18.1 will provide a strong bullish momentum to launch Litecoin higher in the upcoming days and weeks to come.
