A new survey is in the latest cryptocurrency news, carried out to see the interest behind Facebook’s new Libra coin. Conducted by the cryptocurrency data firm the TIE, the survey revealed that US residents are active on Twitter, tweeting even more about Facebook’s Libra coin than Bitcoin.
As TIE showed, around 43.8% of the US residents are tweeting about the Libra coin, while the percentage that tweets about Bitcoin is 39.8%. The other countries where Libra tweets were notable include UK, France, Canada and Australia.

Interestingly, the United States represents an even larger proportion of Libra Coin tweets 43.8% than BTC 39.8%.
Like Bitcoin, the UK has the second most tweets on Libra. The UK is followed by France, Canada, and Australia as the country with the most Libra tweets.

As many best cryptocurrency news sites showed, Bitcoin tweets have been dominant in the United States. Around 38.9% of the global tweets on the cryptocurrency come from the world’s biggest economy, while the second place is the United Kingdom which boasts 10.5% of the total Bitcoin related tweets. Other countries where Bitcoin is in the daily tweets include Canada, Turkey, India as well as Australia.

One thing we can all from the survey, as the altcoin news show, is that the Libra coin Twitter activity is not correlated to the market activity. For instance, three of the top five positions in the rankings of the most traded national currencies are taken by countries which don’t make it in the TIE’s list of the highest Bitcoin tweet activity. The US is still a leader in terms of having the national currency as the most traded for Bitcoin.
The Libra coin, however, does not have as many likes as people were expecting it. The coming altcoin news show that the sentiment is slowed down mainly by the regulatory pushback and the backlash from the crypto community – all of which seeing the majority of tweets on Facebook’s coin turn negative.
“While conversations on Libra originally tended to be more positive, today 54.8% of Libra coin tweets were negative.”
This is unlikely to be a deterrence for the leading social network Facebook, though, as the social media giant still seems immune to all kinds of criticism and bad press. Meanwhile, Bitcoin is trading at $11,257 with a $200 billion market cap and a slow correction this Sunday. However, the market is still holding up and trading with $321 billion in its market cap.
