The Directed Acylic Graph (DAG) company IOTA partners with the open source (OS) giant Eclipse Foundation in an attempt to take on the coronavirus with a new collaboration and project that is named Tangle EE.
The IOTA news today show that Tangle EE will provide a well-governed open OS ecosystem for organizations and contributors to develop new projects using IOTA decentralized technologies, including:
- A unified identity project – IOTA partners into a project that will see the network building an interoperable trust infrastructure, enabling identity for people, organizations and things. They will also develop a high-level protocol and further tooling to encourage the adoption of decentralized identity on IOTA.
- The project looks to build an interoperable trust layer which will enable identity for people, organizations and things with a high-level protocol and further tooling that will encourage adoption of decentralized identity on IOTA and reduce the entry barrier for new organizations to participate.
- An extendable toolkit which will help real-time trading of data, products and services as well as enable companies and organizations to easily deploy and participate in industry-agnostic decentralized marketplaces.
As IOTA partners with this organization into building Tangle EE, it will also unite a diverse group of leading companies, academics as well as standards in developing data, payment and identity solutions and tooling on the Tangle.
“We are well on our way to becoming the first truly scalable, feeless and decentralized Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) and have solidified our role as a world-leading centre for DLT research and development. It is now time to provide a vendor-neutral governance framework under which organizations can build enterprise-grade solutions on IOTA,” the post said.
The companies which IOTA partners with (indirectly) will include Dell Technologies, STMicroelectronics (as the founding members of the new working group). However, there are 13 other member organizations including “Software AG , Object Management Group, accessec, Energinet, BiiLabs, Calypso Network Association, ENGIE Lab CRIGEN, RWTH Aachen University, AKITA, Geometric Energy Corporation, TMForum, Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg and IoTIFY,” the post stated.
With the launch of such vendor-neutral open framework, IOTA partners again to distribute governance in the key use case areas. By working together with Eclipse Foundation, IOTA provides a professional environment for organizations, leaders and developments. In it, they can all benefit from the open framework, collaborate on innovative projects and contribute to IOTA’s development in the future.
