An IOTA developer launched a PoC solution for middleware software for Tangle which will be used to create health sector applications to monitor patients so let’s find out more in today’s IOTA news.
Noman Nasir Minhas, the IOTA developer launched a new project to develop a middleware based on the IOTA Tangle. He is a final semester software engineering student at the Islamabad University in Pakistan. Once completed, the project could create eHealth applications to monitor patients and to create immutable databases for the health sector. Minhas made a publication on his LinkedIn account:
“60% implementation of my #finalyearproject has been accepted today. Our #fyp is to develop a #middleware for IOTA Foundation’s ledger and then build an #ehealth application for #remote patient monitoring. Our 60% project presentation included our complete #IOTA #middleware, #reactjs web application built using the developed middleware and #reactnative mobile app.”
The developer presented a video showing how the IOTA-based app could work for monitoring patients. The application requires a QR code to be scanned into a machine that is connected to the patient. The application user can then see the most important data about the status of the connected person. The app could also allow access to the admission date, gender, age, and patient’s history. The health personnel will be able to see the vital signs in order to compare them in tables and to obtain a bigger perspective on the patient’s health status.
In our recent IOTA news, we reported that The IOTA Foundation is working with partners like Jaguar Land Rover, EDAG, NTT DATA Romania, ETO Gruppe, and more by striving to bring a secure and configurable access control framework to smart devices across the globe. IOTA Access will decentralize access and permission structures by enabling the embedding of these in for example a vehicle, to be able to directly process signals on an individual level rather than as a part of a centralized structure. For example, if you own a car and you want to share it with someone, that someone can borrow it at specific times, and in exchange, he will agree to pay for fees and maintenance, insurance, and return of the vehicle at the set date and time.
