Google Tried To Hire Vitalik Buterin (Ethereum Founder) For A Secret Project

Vitalik Buterin is the founder of Ethereum and one of the most influential people in the crypto space. What most of his fans like about him is his full transparency and honesty when it comes to what he is doing at the time.

As of recently, Vitalik Buterin posted a screenshot of a mail from Google with a special job offer for him. After posting a screenshot on his Twitter profile of the mail, Vitalik asked his fans if he should take up Google’s offer and leave Ethereum’s development.

While some claim that this is cynical from Buterin’s side, he still hid the recruiter’s name, email address, and profile photo. The short mail was saying:

“Hi Vitalik,

I hope you are doing well and enjoying the weekend. Google makes sense for you now or in the near future.

This is all that can be read from the screenshot. The poll received more than 2,200 votes with more than 50% saying that he should not take the job. Still, a little more than 40% of the people think that Vitalik is better off at Google.

However, it is highly unlikely for Vitalik to drop everything that he has been working on with Ethereum and work for Google. He is known as the face of Ethereum and seeing him leave ETH would have an immediate impact on Ethereum’s price.

Over the past few months, Buterin has been hard at work, rolling out important Ethereum updates like the implementation of the Proof-of-Stake protocol, Casper, and Sharding. Google, on the other hand, entirely banned cryptocurrency and ICO ads from their search engine – but is reportedly working on a secret blockchain product for verifying transactions.
