Georgia students are looking for new courses in the high schools as they will be taught about crypto in a new financial literacy program that was approved by the Georgia House of Representatives as we are reading more in today’s crypto news.
The Georgia House of Representatives passed a bill that calls for state education officials to start implementing a study program based around financial literacy for the high schooler and crypto being on the curriculum list. The bill passed in the lower chamber of Georgia by a vote of 169-2 which was sponsored by Republican candidates and was sent to the Senate for deliberation. The program outlines 16 areas of financial literacy that will be studied by the students in tenth or eleventh grade:
“The State Board of Education shall prescribe a program of study in personal financial literacy to be completed by students during high school.”
Crypto found itself on the list with more traditional subjects like investing, loan application, tax assessment, checkbook balancing, and money management but given crypto’s position on the list being the lowest, it could not be the most comprehensive overview but it’s a strong start. Georgia students will now have the chance to study the fast-evolving crypto space as this is not the first time this state’s bill was introduced in a high school curriculum. The French education ministry in 2019 already implemented a BTC and crypto module to the high school curriculum.

The module was designed to give the students a basic knowledge of crypto in relation to the traditional financial world and pushed students to find out what BTC is and what can it do in the future. We can see that it’s not too early to learn about crypto since we saw the three-year-old BTC educator speaking at the online Women of the Future conference, explaining about crypto. Lily Knight became quite popular after releasing a video about the limited supply of Bitcoin using Skittles for visual representation.
As reported a while ago, The high school students in France are apparently going to start learning more about cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin (BTC) as the leading cryptocurrency out there, according to an update in the high school curriculum. The French high schools will make the new update soon, which was previously amended by the Ministry of National Education in the country.
