Robinhood will allow users to move DOGE soon as the new COO Christine Brown, laying out plans for the app’s services as we can see more in our latest DOGE news today.
Brown explained that she plans to add crypto transfers to external wallets and also considered services like lending and staking. It’s been a month since Brown became a COO of Robinhood and everything is kind of changing fast. After Elon Musk gave up on BTC and the Chinese government renewed the crypto crackdown, trillion dollars were deleted from the market and ETH lost half of its value while DOGE’s surge stalled.
The crash over the week was enough to choke Coinbase, Kraken, Binance, and Gemini each of which went offline during the sale but Robinhood Crypto which is an app known for outages managed to stay online. Brown said:
“It’s not like there’s a switch that flipped, like: ‘increase capacity. It’s very, very complicated in terms of making sure that optimization is happening. So far, Robinhood has seen the dividends of the investment that we’ve been making.”
Before becoming COO of Robinhood Crypto, Brown spent about four years building the stock clearing system which made Robinhood the hottest commission-free trading app in America, and back in 2020, the company purchased $682 million in order to flow revenue from the 13 million users. The popularity of the wall strained recently in its tech and built buckled during the S&P 500 best day. Then again in January when the legions of Reddit traders pumped GameStop shares hard, Robinhood cut the traders off from the stock.
Christine Brown is leading one of the most demanded products of Robinhood and 9.5 million people traded crypto on the exchange in the first quarter of the year which marked a 1.7 million in the past quarter of 2020. the crypto offering by Robinhood is far more limited than crypto trading services on other apps and the customers can buy and sell something like I-O-U notes that show them the amount of crypto that the app holds on their behalf. Robinhood doesn’t allow the customers to transfer the crypto wallets outside of the platform but so far it is good enough. The app onboarded six million new users in the past two months of this year. Soon, however, Robinhood will allow users to move DOGE off the app. In order to keep the users loyal, Brown plans to add more transfers to external wallets from Robinhood.
