The rapper Ice Cube known as O’Shea Jackson Sr jumped on the DOGE bandwagon with the endorsement of the incredible and historical DOGE transaction. Ice Cube backed DOGE and his entry is related to the BIG3 basketball league that he co-founded. The organization features former NBA stars in a three on their format as opposed to the five-on-five basketball games. Last month, the BIG3 launched a new ownership model for the league which consists of selling tokenized stakes in 12 teams and there are 1000 NFTs in total allocated to each team with 25 “fire” NFTs worth $25,000 apiece and 975 “Gold” NFTs $5000 each.

MyDoge wallet co-founder bill Lee even tweeted at Ice Cube saying “if ya dig DOGE, I and the DogeArmy will take one as well,” referencing the posts from Ice Cube announcing that Snoop Dogg was buying two teams. Ice cube relied on:

“come on wit it Bill, you know i’m down with the DogeArmy.”

While it is unclear how “down” is the actual, the BIG3 fired out a press release on the same day and announced that LEe purchased the 25 Fire NFTs for the Aliens team via doge. The historical transaction was worth $625,000 or about 4.86 million DOGE at the time of writing and BIG3 also called it the biggest commercial transaction in the history of Dogecoin. The Fire NFT represents the higher end of ownership and utility benefits as well as voting rights and intellectual property rights for the team logos and merch. The owner/holder can sell their Fire NFTs and get a 40% cut of the sale. As a part of the announcement, Lee took a slight dig at the projects that feature apes and owls, suggesting that he looks at NFT projects with utility.
