DOGE Foundation’s new advisory board includes Elon Musk’s representative Jared Birchall and the co-founder of Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin as we are reading more today in our dogecoin news.
The core developers behind Dogecoin which is a meme cryptocurrency seeking to become a global payment method announced the members of the Dogecoin Foundation. DOGE Foundation’s new advisory board includes Vitalik Buterin and Elon Musk’s representative Jared Birchall according to a statement published today.

Three prominent Dogecoin community members Jens Wiechers, Gary Lachance, and Timothy Stebbing alongside core developers Michi Lumin and Ross Nicoll are already on the board. Before the launch of the manifesto, Nicoll said that the foundation doesn’t replace the existing developers but it will only provide a structure to hire full-time staff and work on Dogecoin. The manifesto says:
“We are Dogecoin, the accidental crypto-movement that makes people smile.”
However, while it does have a website and a manifesto, the foundation unlike those for other cryptocurrencies is not yet a legal entity according to Nicol. The team is working to get the final details in place but hasn’t yet announced the headquarters or a roadmap. Elon Musk has been advising the core team since he was voted for a Dogecoin CEO in 2019 but their plans have nothing less than to make the cryptocurrency that started as a joke and become a viable payment method as one that can be used to buy a cup of coffee for example. To put into action, the Dogecoin team assembled a huge cast of advisers.
Musk is represented by Jared Birchall as a former senior vice president at Morgan Stanley and an associate of Musk. He is on the board of the Musk Foundation and a manager of Tesla and SpaceX chief’s family office. Billy Markus founded Dogecoin alongside Jackson Palmer who is also on the advisory board and also developer Max Keller and ETH co-founder Vitalik Buterin. The Ethereum co-founder will appear an unlike choice as an advisor but he has been very positive about DOGE in the past and hinted at a collaboration with ETH.
As recently reported, Dogecoin has seen some strong value recently with a 41% rise in the past week. It is pumping faster than Bitcoin or Ethereum amidst the wider crypto market surge. DOGE rises further and if you remember, it already surged to an all-time high above $0.73 and lost about 78% of the value in the weeks that followed.
