Cardano Users Can Spend ADA Across US Stores Via Flexa Network

Cardano users can spend their ADA across US stores via payments network Flexa as we are reading more in today’s Cardano ADA news.

The payment processor Flexa added support for ADA as the native cryptocurrency of the Cardano network, which expands the network to other available payment options which means Cardano users can spend their ADA. Flexa tweeted:

“At last, the native asset of Cardano is live on Flexa. Now you can spend your $ADA instantly at over 40,000 locations across the US!”

Flexa launched its crypto wallet dubbed SPEDN in the US and initially, the network allowed users to pay with BTC, ETH, and Bitcoin Cash as well as the Gemini Dollar in retail stores including Baskin Robbins, Whole Foods, Lowe’s, and Nordstrom. Flexa also partnered with Winklevoss’s Gemini exchange at the same time. Accoridng to the announcement, SPEDN users can try out their ADA payments on the network and for example, to buy the tickets at an American movie theater chain, Regal Cinemas partnered with Flexa in November to enable digital currency payments for movies. Regal’s chief marketing officer Ken Thewes noted:

“Regal is committed to being ‘The Best Place to Watch a Movie.’ As more of our customers demand digital asset solutions and safer payment methods, we are grateful to have found a partner in Flexa, a company that is revolutionizing digital payments with cutting-edge software and an innovative business platform.”

Flexa’s latest announcement improved the path for many Cardano enthusiasts that were worried about the BitPay payments provider last week. BitPay added the meme token Shiba Inu to its platform despite ADA’s leading the user poll. At the time, Cardano’s founder Charles Hoskinson questioned BitPay’s decision but Flexa added SHIB as well to its platform a few days ago as well. Now, holders of both tokens are free to spend them at Flexa’s partner stores.

IOHK said that it is initially partnering with decentralized artificial intelligence network SingularityNET in the initaitive and in this testnet version, the users can move SingularityNET’s AGIX tokens to Cardano and to the Ethereum blockchain via the permissioned bridge. This marks a huge step ahead in driving interoperability between the blockchains to establish the functional environment for Defi. Cardano launched a testnet that is a working prototype and will pave the way for the mainnet that is ready to be used as a real product.
