Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss are yet again in our cryptocurrency news today for saying that Facebook’s mysterious crypto project is good for the industry but the crypto itself will bring something far greater than the social networking era. The owners of the Gemini crypto exchange stated this in an interview with the British Telegraph on March 17th.
Both of the twins have a long history with the founder of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg after they sued him for stealing their idea for a social network platform while all of them attended college at Harvard. The case later settled after the twins received $20 million plus 1.2 million Facebook shares which reach up to 9.

After the twins got into crypto and Bitcoin, Zuckerberg is now trying to enter the crypto space via the secretive project of Facebook to integrate crypto stablecoin payments with the help of its messaging service used by WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook Messenger.
In the interview, the twins claim to have put all history aside after Cameron claimed that a Facebook stablecoin would actually be a really good development for the crypto industry. Tyler also said that it is extremely ‘’coo’’ of Mark to enter the market after their long years into championing for the same goal.
Both of them also said that they truly believe that the innovation that crypto brought up, delivers huge disruptive development opportunities rather than the social networking platforms. Cameron made a point that ‘’crypt is transferring value and putting markets on certain resources which, is, like, greater, like, brings more people in, like, than, like, sharing photos right.’’ Tyler continued:
“It’s powerful. People want to connect and stuff, but if you actually pay people and things in value that is almost, like, more significant.”
As previously reported, unconfirmed reports show that Facebook has a plan to integrate a cryptocurrency for WhatsApp users all the way back since December 2018. However, Telegram’s encrypted messaging app preceded FB’s plans after they provided the public with their plans to create a blockchain-based messaging network.
The Winklevoss twins in the meantime are fighting another legal battle against the bitcoin entrepreneur Chalie Shrem for allegedly owning them money from an old bitcoin trade deal.
