The Securities and Exchange Commission of the United States reaches our cryptocurrency news again but now for trying to find and hire a crypto specialist attorney advisor for its Trading and Markets division. The opened job position was posted three days ago to the official employment portal, USAJobs.
The candidate to be chosen has to be tasked first with establishing a ‘’comprehensive plan to address crypto and digital asset securities’’ with the TM staff and other SEC members.
The newly hired advisor should be able to develop and provide expert knowledge of crypto and digital asset securities and to be serving the point of contact for domestic and global regulators at the division.
On the list of responsibilities, the newly hired will have to show successfully ‘’applying of the knowledge of federal securities laws to digital asset securities and crypto matters, clearing agency and transfer registrations, exchange product application, trade practices, and sale.’’
The person that will be hired should be able to conduct regular meetings with the agency staff and to provide open communication and understating of the most important matters as well as keeping the staff informed about the most important information regarding the industry.
The salary for this position varies from $144,850 to $238,787 for a full-time role but applicants are obliged to fulfill certain criteria to be eligible to apply. For example, the applicant must hold a Juris Doctor (J.D) or bachelor of laws (LL.B) degree but also be a member of the Federal Bar Association.
Applicants must provide evidence of four years of post J.D experience and three years of included interpreting and applying laws regrind the securities industry. They are also asked to indicate a provided ‘’guidance and expertise in the evaluation of legal and policy issues, addressing securities law issues that often lack clearly applicable precedents due to the novelty of issues, analyzing the factual and legal issues involved.’’
As reported previously, the SEC gladly accepts new talented and skilled people after they hired Valerie Szczepanik who is known as the SEC’s Crypto Czar. She indicated that assets in the stablecoin sector will likely have issues under the existing securities laws.
Many industry giants are calling on the SEC to provide improved regulatory clarity.
