TIME And Sandbox Partner To Build TIME Square In The Metaverse

TIME and Sandbox partner to build the Time Square in the Metaverse as the former continued the foray into the NFT space by partnering with the blockchain-based gaming company so let’s read more today in our latest Blockchain news.

According to the announcement, the initiative was inspired by the virtual spirit and energy of the real-time Time Square based in New York City. Times Square is an iconic cultural center, tourist destination, and neighborhood in New York. The area is quite famous for its illuminated advertising billboards and is considered the heart of New York. TIME and Sandbox partner to recreate something similar in the metaverse and their partnership will allow the media company to build the Time Square on a virtual land in The Sandbox whcih will make it a first-ever destination since joining the NFT space last year.

The media company 2021 launched TIMEPieces as an NFT community initiative featuring the original artwork of 40 influential artists. The community has four NfT collections, Inspiration, Genesis, Long Necktie Women of the Year, Beatclub Collection, and SLices of Time. According to the TIME president Keith A Grossman, the goal of the company is to build a virtual environment that will become the heart of the metaverse:

“Our goal is to create a destination that will be the heart of the metaverse. Since launching TIMEPieces in September 2021, we have focused on developing a community in Web3 that benefited from the incredible 100- year legacy and access TIME has established.”

TIME Square will serve as an inclusive paltform for the holders to enjoy unique experiences like attending meetings and events hosted by TIME Studios for educational purposes. Grossman noted that TIME Square will provide a natural bridge between the virtual community and global relationships. Commenting on the matter, Sebastian Borget added:

“By partnering with TIME, we’re adding TIMEPieces as the beating heart and soul of this virtual Manhattan, where a design call for virtual architects will be held in TIME Square, a place in our creative metaverse for brands and creators.”

As recently reported, The Governemnt of Dubai is not planning on slowing down in its efforts to promote the development of the local industry and appeal to crypto enthusiasts. Dubai’s regulator announced the purchase of virtual land in the Sandbox metaverse which is meant for the development of virtual headquarters.
