The Snowcrash Solana NFT platform will integrate an identity verification protocol Civic Pass in a move to avoid bot manipulation. Snowcrash will use Civic Pass to focus on preventing bot spamming. The platform is a new NFT marketplace built on the Solana blockchain and announced it will integrate the identity verification protocol Civil and try to fight the bot manipulation on its platform.

Launched in 2021 by Jesse Dylan and Walter de Brouwer, Snowcrash named after the 1992 cyberpunk novel said I will use Civicl’s Pass protocol to protect artists and fans from bad actors that are looking to manipulate the NFT market. Civic Pass is a gatekeeper that requires users to complete a task before accessing a new website. The tasks can take the form of completing a cAPTAHC or using an appt o verify that the user is actually a human. Jesse Dylan said:

“Through a practice similar to ticket scalping, botting has plagued NFT mints. Civic elegantly resolves this issue for us by identifying human participants and prohibiting bot participation, giving our NFT partners and IP holders like Sony Music Entertainment and Universal Music Group peace of mind.”

The NFTs are unique tokens that exist on the blockchain like Solana or Etheruem. They serve as proof of ownership of digital photos, audio files, and videos while the Solana blockchain as the most popular rival to Ethereum for mining NFTs, Is known for having low fees but it also makes it a target for scammers and market manipulation using bots. Civic made a mission to combat the NFT space and it released Ignite Pass which is a free version of its Civic Pass. Civic said that it can help NFT projects to maintain transparency while Snowcrash said it will use Civic Pass to restrict access from the bots and protect user privacy.

Since its launch in 2015, Civic went a long way to prevent bot manipulation as its protocol was used for over 200 minutes and blocked a reported 900,000 bots but the road hasn’t been easy. The creators of the Big Daddy Ape Club NFT collection stole 9,136 SOl or abound $1.3 million at the same time verified the project.
