Popular crypto critic Elizabeth Waren who is also a Senator, is considering running for president in the next 2020 presidential race in the United States, according to the latest blockchain news coming from the Wall Street Journal.
Warren will be able to raise funds with the exploratory committee before starting her presidential campaign. She is a representative of the Democratic party from Massachusetts and became popular for criticising corporations and large banks but most importantly cryptocurrencies.
She posted an announcement video on her official website where she can be heard saying:
‘’America’s middle class is under attack. How did we get here? Billionaires and big corporations decided they wanted more of the pie and they enlisted politicians to cut them a fatter slice.’’
Warren will have a huge impact for the crypto industry since the Democratic politician is not really a big fan of cryptocurrencies and Initial coin offerings. She has stated before that she is extremely worried that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are extremely volatile and that the digital currencies could eventually hurt many American families economically.
The presidential race is still already heating up with many democrats hoping to take Donald Trump out of the White House. Other Democrats are supposed to join the presidential announcements in the next few weeks including Kamala Harris, Kirsten Gillibrand and Michael Bloomberg.
While speaking at a hearing of the Senate Committe, Waren criticised cryptocurrencies that they are easy to steal and investors could get easily scammed.
