North Syrian School Opens Its Doors For Blockchain Technology

North Syrian school started providing classes for blockchain technology as we are about to see in the blockchain news today in order to increase the level of education in the war-torn country.

Open Academy is trying to tackle one of the greatest issues in the country which is the lack of education for young people. The North Syrian school has been researching how the blockchain technology can complement the societal model which is based on the method of decentralization. Many of the students in the school are getting curious about bitcoin and blockchain and one of the representatives of the school stated:

 “I don’t trust the Syrian pound, I don’t trust the American dollar, they are just paper. But bitcoin yes, we can trust it.’’

Before the war, Damascus forbid the Kurds from learning their own language and they were also unable to learn about technology. The schools adopted a high authoritarian style and they even had corporal punishment involved. The Kurdish students are now able to learn Kurdish but the North Syrian educational system has a lot of catching up to do in the tech field. Before delivering the blockchain projects, the students need to master the basics of coding while still having limited resources and a constant threat of conflict. One electronic student named Redur Daristan stated:

 “This is a long development. It will take years.’’

Over the past six months, the government of North Syria established multiple learning centers across the territory and provided free tuition in tech and philosophy. One of the teachers in the school Azad Maxmud explained more about the program:

 “The main purpose of [our efforts] is to solve the problems of society. The reason they study sociology, history and philosophy is to be aware of the problems and cut them from the root.”

As per the crypto news today, this is a huge step forward since women in the country will play an important role with the school. By offering them free education in technology and philosophy, the country could set an example for the entire Middle East. The liberation for women is very important for the North Syrian revolution since the women in the country are encouraged to participate in the governance of the region.
