The international business media outlet Forbes, known for his dominance in the online world, is in the latest blockchain news after a new partnership signed by the company’s officials went viral. Forbes joined its forces with Civil, which is a blockchain-based platform, in an initiative that will publish its content on a decentralized network, according to a Medium post published by the co-founder of the company.
For all those of you who don’t know, Forbes is one of the oldest and most dominant news outlets, founded in 1917 and with an audience of over 120 million people, known through its main and local editions. In the new process, the leading news site will only use blockchain for the crypto-related news items. However, if Forbes considers the experiment successful, other pieces will be posted on blockchain as well.
According to some experts, Forbes is also planning to “experiment with new methods of reader engagement” and help the media to ensure that no third party can remove or alter the content.
Previously, Civil has partnered with the major news agency Associated Press (AP), in a partnership which will see AP using blockchain for intellectual rights, tracking its content usage and supporting ethical journalism – all so that news agencies can have immediate access to the reports.
