WISeKey, Switzerland-based cybersecurity, and blockchain firm opened a new Blockchain Center of Excellence in Geneva according to the announcements reaching our crypto news today with hopes to open new centers in Latin America, United States, China, and India.
The company focuses on identification and authentication by using a special cryptographic tool called Root of Trust. WISeKey is also working fast to incorporate Internet of Things and blockchain technology into its portfolio and further operations.
The new center in Geneva (The Geneva Blockchain Center of Excellence), will assist startups that are blockchain related to helping them with researching and promoting the technology. It will also help the startups to expedite the adoption of blockchain technology both in the private and public sectors.
The goal of the blockchain centers is to coordinate academia, business and other centers to find and share the best practices and resources. Geneva will mostly focus on FinTech while other centers will specialize in anti-counterfeiting platforms.
Just seven days ago, WISeKey announced the opening of another blockchain center-The Global Blockchain Center in Malaysia after partnering with a tech investment branch for which the board director of Censof. Censof Ameer bin Shalik Mydin said:
“The potential benefits of blockchain will help drive efficiencies for our clients.”
The blockchain-related company also announced a new blockchain-based identity partnership with Race for Water non-profit Foundation hoping to reduce ocean pollution with the help of blockchain technology.
WISeKey aims to create a digital identity that will be stored on its blockchain for every product made out of plastic by the participating companies. The products will later be connected with a secure form-factor on the product by a QR code or microchip.
