A Metamask contributor explained that the team is ‘’totally overwhelmed’’ and is not getting the priority they need by the parent company ConsenSys as we are about to read more in the blockchain latest news today.
The metamask contributor took it to Reddit and stated that the team doesn’t get the support they need from ConsenSys and this leads for the whole team of 24 employees to be overwhelmed. The post was titled as ‘’Help MetaMask out of its Activity-trap’’ and it goes on to explain that the team has a number of issues that cannot be solved and its inner workflow structure is not decentralized and transparent:
“One cannot follow development via the public issue-tracker, simply because the team uses an internal tracker and internal ‘meetings.’ This is not transparent. This is not decentralized. MetaMask is a critical value-moving piece of Ethereum. It is written in JavaScript, nearly completely untyped. The code is of low quality, full of technical debt (both, in terms of code and architecture).”
The Reddit user Lazardiscom, explained that he is participating in the project as a contributor showing his account on GitHub and as a part of the solutions he suggested to the problem, he urged that the team has to fully migrate to TypeScript immediately. Lazardiscom discussed further that ConsenSys has to implement a ‘’stricter evaluation of its ‘’Spokes’’ which is a strict set of rules for the public projects. The developer also noted that the Consensys software project Gitcoin has to be more uncontrolled and has to become more attractive.

In the post, the Redditor criticized the structural issue in the Metamask team and according to him, the platform maintains team leads despite Joe Lubin who is the founder of ConsenSys and the co-founder of Ethereum by trying to convince everyone that ConsenSys is a non-hierarchical company.
Additionally, another MetaMask employee Daniel Finlay claims to be one of the leads who is ‘’totally overwhelmed’’ since he serves as the lead developer on MetaMask at ConsenSys with the major responsibilities focused on the browser extension. The post mentions ‘’super-low bounties’’ noting some of the bounties that are equal to less than $1 per hour after calculating how much time the tasks take to complete.
