LG Electronics Giant Develops A Cryptocurrency Smartphone

LG Electronics giant from South Korea is working on a cryptocurrency-enabled smartphone in the near future according to the industry insiders as per the reports in the latest cryptocurrency news we have here on our website today.

LG will launch the smartphone as a response to the industry rival Samsung who recently released a limited-edition version of the bitcoin-wallet smartphone Galaxy Note 10. According to a report by the South Korean news outlet, IT Chosun, the LG Electronics Giant started researching how to incorporate blockchain technology into phones shortly after Samsung announced the Galaxy S10 which has a built-in crypto hardware wallet and also supports decentralized applications.

An industry official claimed that the LG market research is complete and that it has been in discussion with some dApp developers. The official even claimed to have some knowledge of one of the dapps that will be included on the new phone. LG also applied for a trademark on ThinQ Wallet both in the United States and South Korea as a rival to Samsung’s Blockchain Keystore. LG often seems to be one step behind Samsung when it comes to integrating new technologies since the insiders suggest that this could be because of the hard desire to separate its own offerings from that of its rival.

More specifically, a party familiar with the LG Electronics giant group suggested that the company has been struggling lately with the application of the blockchain technology to a smartphone especially with one that is different. Whether LG has now achieved this or simply decided to enter the market with a standard offering is now yet clear. Also, Samsung recently upgraded its Galaxy S10 and made it able to support more cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, Binance Coin, and the Basic Attention Token. The new phone also has a limited edition version of its Galaxy Note 10 in collaboration with Kakao named the KlaytnPhone. This one will have a KLAY wallet and a few apps. One of the Kakao representatives stated that the product was ‘’ designed to make it easier for general users to access the blockchain service’’ as per the reports in the previous altcoin news.
