This week in the latest blockchain news shows that more and more events are getting canceled or rescheduled over fears of the coronavirus and the deadly COVID-19 disease. The largest blockchain conference in Japan is now postponed due to the coronavirus and has moved to a new date – September 28.
We are talking about the TEAM2 Blockchain Summit which was originally scheduled for April 22 and 23, but has moved to September 28 instead. As the organizers said in an official statement:
“TEAMZ has been closely monitoring the global development of the Coronavirus. TEAMZ is deeply concerned about the safety and security of those attending the summit, including speakers, attendees, partners and sponsors.”
The venue, schedule as well as the setup of the summit will remain the same according to the report issued on March 15. This largest conference invites more than 2,000 visitors from all around the globe including blockchain adopters, industry experts, venture capitalists and educators.
The chairman of Bitcoin.com, Roger Ver, along with the Primitive Ventures founding partner Dovey Wan and the Bitcoin maximalist and billionaire investor Tim Draper were all among the confirmed speakers.
Earlier this month, we also reported that the Paris Blockchain Week Summit has been postponed till December 9 and 10. This conference named “Bitcoin 2020” was originally scheduled for March 27 and 28 in San Francisco but has now moved to sometime in Q3 of 2020.
Besides the largest blockchain conference in Japan, the cryptonews also show that TOKEN2049 which is a major crypto event in Hong Kong has also been postponed. Originally scheduled for mid-March, this event will not take place in the first week of October.
Currently, the cryptocurrency world is in another shock as Bitcoin fell under $5,000 overnight and lost more than 10%. Now, the cryptocurrency is vulnerable and is dropping in value, followed by Ether (ETH) which is also at $111 with a 10% drop overnight as well as XRP which visited the $0.14 levels.
The list of losers in the altcoin news continues with Bitcoin Cash (BCH) which dropped 5% as well as Litecoin (LTC) which lost 10%. One of the biggest losers on the day is Binance Coin (BNB), which is trading 11% lower than yesterday at a price of $9.24.
