Huawei Cloud partnered with the Beijing government to create the new blockchain-powered public directory according to the latest reports by Jintai News.
The Chinese tech giant caused controversies in the West and faced a lot of allegations that their products could facilitate spying tools around the world. Cyber espionage and data protection are what inspired the US to put a ban on Huawei products in 2018 but this hasn’t stopped the company to pursue new opportunities in China such as they attempt to apply blockchain data governance. The report said that the new blockchain solution is designed to be people-oriented and beneficial for the citizens. The partnership between the companies will target the areas of the daily life and procedures that are not effective or transparent.
Among the most anticipated solutions will be the improvements to the healthcare infrastructure of the city which was exposed to the outbreak of COVID 19 as the report suggested the blockchain-powered solution will predict the trends of epidemics in advance by using data from each hospital to the city and to also coordinate medical responses.
The blockchain-powered platform will address other parts of Beijing’s infrastructure and some areas of focus will include addressing complaints and appeals to city rulings, parking and road issues as well as solutions to check risks relating to water and electricity use as well as gas usage in the people’s homes. It seems that there are some issued that will not be preserved immutably.
In case you have forgotten, Huawei Cloud has launched their Blockchain services and The BCS was already launched for commercial use in China this year and it is available to a broad audience via Huawei Cloud’s international website. This service will help entrepreneurs and developers around the world to create and deploy blockchain applications on the Huawei Cloud at a much cheaper cost. The global launch will also set the ground for a global blockchain platform to be released soon.
