Andrew Bustamante is the name of the ex-CIA official and intelligence officer that is in the crypto news today – mostly because of his recent statement about blockchain and its “super powerful” nature which actually represents a threat to America’s national security.
Bustamante specializes in publishing life-hacks based on his knowledge of espionage and is reportedly an Air Force veteran and Fortune 10 corporate advisor. In a subreddit thread on the news aggregation site Reddit, he brought up blockchain in response to a question regarding the “Everyday Espionage” which he dubs an “integrated education and training platform that teaches international espionage tactics to benefit everyday life.”
When asked about “the biggest threat to America’s national security in the coming years” while hinting with several possible answers including “Russia” and “climate change” and “Iran” and “North Korea.”
However, Bustamante confidently responded:
“Block-chain technology [sic.] No joke. Super powerful stuff, and the first one to figure out how to hack it, manipulate it or bring it down wins.”
Even though the ex-CIA official did not elaborate on his remarks, he acknowledge another Redditor’s response who asked him for clarification to this. Others attempted to extrapolate the other meanings based on the scant information that Bustamante gave with his comment.
