The famous podcaster Joe Rogan recently revealed that he uses the privacy focused Brave Browser in order to avoid Internet ads and Google tracking. The latest episode of his podcast touches this subject in the cryptonews and also features the American musician and comic Reggie Watts.
It is easy to see that this is one of the most high profile endorsements for Brave Browser throughout its history. The podcast by the famous podcaster Joe Rogan was downloaded more than 190 million times each month. The show was recently licensed to Spotify in a $100 million deal. Also, the episode has already received 1.7 million views on YouTube in the first 24 hours.
During the 2.5 hour episode, Rogan and Watts devoted almost 30 minutes to discussing topics like Internet privacy, apps and ads:
“If you want to use Instagram or if you want to use Facebook, you’re getting tracked.”
The famous podcaster Joe Rogan discussed the difficult experiences with many of the major social media apps along with Google’s intense surveillance and tracking and pointed to a recent $5 billion lawsuit that was filed against Google for tracking the users even in privacy mode, without consent.
Rogan was in the blockchain news for stating that he also used Brave along with Duck Duck Go, which Watts said was “not as good” as Brave since “the search engine sucks.” Watts even hinted towards a future involving blockchain technology as a whole, saying, “the future is distributed.”
Meanwhile, the Brave Browser developed by Javascipt creator and Mozilla founder Brendan Eich is very similar to the Google Chrome but has a slight change with its privacy centric features. In that manner, users can navigate the Internet without being tracked or inundated with ads. Users can also opt-in to receiving select ads and receiving cryptocurrency rewards as BAT tokens.
Earlier this week, the Brave Browser reached more than 15 million active users and grew by 125% in the last year, having more than 5 million daily users. The famous podcaster Joe Rogan is no stranger to cryptocurrency guests including the Bitcoin expert and best selling author Andreas Antonopoulos and ‘former Dogecoin CEO’ Elon Musk.
Meanwhile, the crypto market suffered another minor drop overnight and the coins are now stabilizing.
