Five new blockchain positions in the blockchain department at Facebook HQ in Menlo Park, California have been officially opened according to the posted listings today which we are covering in our digital currency news below.
The job listings are available on the LinkedIn profile of the company and according to the announcement; Facebook is looking for a product manager, data scientist, growth product manager, software engineer and business operations manager for its growing blockchain team. The job description goes:
“The blockchain team is a startup within Facebook and we’re exploring lots of areas of interest across all facets of blockchain technology. Our ultimate goal is to help billions of people with access to things they don’t have now – that could be things like healthcare, equitable financial services, or new ways to save or share information.”
A while ago, the company opened another blockchain-related position, more specifically senior lawyer that has experience in blockchain and payments. The senior lawyer will be responsible for creating drafts and making all kinds of contracts that are related with the blockchain initiatives of the country but also the person will be responsible for advising clients and showing the company the legal risks that can emerge from using this technology.
Facebook also noted that they are looking for a product manager and mixed methods UX researcher for their opened job positions in Tel Aviv, Israel. After opening five new positions, the blockchain department has officially more than 20 blockchain-related job positions.
As previously reported by DC Forecasts, Facebook’s stance on cryptocurrencies have gone through multiple changes during the past couple of years. The social media company had even banned crypto ads and now it is considering launching its own stablecoin for all of the users of the messaging service WhatsApp which is now owned by Facebook.
The blockchain department of Facebook first started teaming up in May 2018.
