Crypto entrepreneur Roger Ver and CEO of Bitcoin.com resigned from his position at the company and could be moving to the executive chairman position as noted in the latest cryptocurrency news.
The former CEO of Bitcoin.com was regularly confused with being the CEO of Bitcoin itself, and as the reports note he is quietly moving to another position. The last time the website was archived on July 14 showed that Ver was listed as the Bitcoin.com CEO. The documents show that the management shift does not appear to have been announced to the public yet. However, the website now lists Ver as an executive chairman and Stefan Rust as the CEO of the company. The LinkedIn profile of Rust shows that he took over the CEO position back in July after he was working in the company as the global head of corporate and business development for more than six months.
The Crypto entrepreneur moved to a new position and it was only first visible on Twitter. Bitcoin.com is now planning to launch a full-blown crypto exchange in September. The company also launched a Bitcoin Cash alternative to LocalBitcoins and Roger Ver even taunted President Donald Trump after he attacked cryptocurrencies on Twitter. It is still unclear whether these events are related but we do know that Ver once investigated Mt.Gox and published a video defending Mark Karpeles when the Japanese exchange was in the middle of a breakdown.
Roger Ver recently escaped a libel lawsuit in the UK which was brought up against him by Craig Wright. The lawsuit was brought at Ver’s invitation but the personality team convinced the court that Ver didn’t cause any harm to Wright’s reputation within England and Wales. Bitcoiniers have previously accused Ver of trying to confuse people of the nature of Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash. He was once recorded saying as we noted in the altcoin news previously:
“If you are buying BTC in 2019 because you think it is Bitcoin, you are being fooled. You actually are looking for BCH, the peer to peer electronic cash system for online payments.”
