Circle’s Dan Matuszewski, the head of trading at the company announced that he is moving on from the company and he is now being replaced with Nick Gustafson who is a Kraken alum as we learn today in the altcoin news below.
Matuszewski wrote:
“Circle Trade was born mostly out of an accident. Initially tasked with providing liquidity for our retail bitcoin payments app, our presence in the market grew to a scale where we began to provide liquidity to a whole array of counterparties outside our own internal needs. I have nothing but the best experiences from my time here.’’
In another statement that was written by Circle’s Dan Matuszewski, Gustafson we can read that:
“I’m looking forward to expanding the team, filling some key hires over the coming months, and continuing to deliver world-class market-making services and support to our growing roster of counterparties.”
Circle also confirmed that Beatrice O’Carroll who is a head of institutional sales has moved on from the company as well. She worked in over-the-counter (OTC) trading at the Boston-centerd financial services company. She reported to the chief operations officers. She also had a very deep history in traditional financial services before she decided to leap into the world of cryptocurrencies. Carroll also served at City, AIG, Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch, and other companies among others and over the course of her career according to LinkedIn. Back in 2015, she joined the business development team at itBit which is an exchange now known as Paxos. She has served as Circle ever since she left the company in 2016. She told Coindesk in an interview:
“As Circle’s OTC business has grown, we launched a new Strategic Accounts Management team with five full-time employees that handle all of our new counterparty and existing counterparty relationship management for Circle Trade and our institutional customers.’’
O’Carroll was not available for comment at this time. As noted in the latest cryptocurrency news, Circle has had an amazing year so far and had multiple new high-ranking employees from the crypto sector that joined the company. It still remains to see how the new head of trading will settle into the new position.
