Bulgaria Will Finally Face The Bubble OneCoin In ‘International Operation’

Big news come from the Bulgarian Special Prosecutor’s Office which is involved in a wide-ranging and international investigation into companies and people behind the pyramid scheme known to the public as OneCoin, which has been accused of being a bubble and misrepresenting the entire point of cryptocurrencies.

The Bulgarian office stated that they were collaborating with officials in Germany as well as ones from international groups such as Eurojust and Europol to investigate the so-called ponzi scheme. Germany has already conducted an investigation into OneCoin that started last year, as soon as they effectively banned OneCoin and its promoters from the country.

The Bulgarian prosecutor’s office said that corporate offices and dozens of witnesses have been interviewed to ‘solve the case’.

The statement explained:

“On 17 and 18 January 2017, in the presence of representatives of Europol and the German investigative bodies, the offices of Wan Network Services and 14 other companies were searched. A lot of material evidence has been seized, including servers, so far, 50 witnesses have been questioned.”

Other highlights from the statement included the international nature of the investigation that points to a number of countries that have launched inquiries of their own in the recent months. In July, reports stated that the OneCoin founder Ruja Ignatova was being charged by Indian authorities connected with the alleged pyramid scheme.

“At present, companies associated with OneCoin Ltd. are being investigated in England, Ireland, Italy, the United States, Canada, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and many other countries,” was what is in the statement of the prosecutor’s office.
