The current party in power in the Russian Federation has officially launched a blockchain-based platform that will be used for electronic voting according to the crypto news reports reaching our website from the local news agency TASS.
United Russia has initially launched an updated website for all of those who are interested in the newly added function for e-voting. The head of the IT projects of the party Vyacheslav Sateyev claimed that the voting process will be implemented with the help of blockchain technology:
“Candidates will be able to fill in their personal pages on this site, including posting news, videos, photos, distributing their pages. The personal account is now integrated with all social networks. We have also made an adaptive version of the site for mobile phones.”
Citizens who have completed the authorization process on the website can participate and vote. The e-voting system is created so the election is transparent and intermediaries are eliminated in the process.
At the start of February, the Moscow city council submitted a bill for the use of blockchain technology for the electronic system. The Moscow City Duma which is the local parliament wants to protect the voting process and to improve the entire system in the upcoming elections with the help of blockchain technology.
Also, last December, in the Southern parts of Russia more specifically in the Saratov Oblast, a successful blockchain-based election took place with more than 40,000 participants. Members of the local Youth Parliament were elected via the blockchain-based e-system Polys that was created by Kaspersky Labs.
