The peer-to-peer torrent client BitTorrent which seems to be present a lot in the crypto news these days, has made another great partnership with crypto payment gateway CoinPayments in order to provide support for its native BTT token.
BitTorrent launched its token in January this year and has since started to tokenize its sharing ecosystem a couple of months after the company was acquired by TRON.
According to an official press release, BitTorrent has been collaborating with CoinPayments on supporting TRON but also Bitcoin payments for premium services. By adding BTT support, all of the users can use the token to pay for BitTorrent subscriptions, file conversions, and HD streaming.
The founder of TRON Justin Sun has pointed out that the roadmap for tokenization of the BTT ecosystem, will make BitTorrent liquid on the online marketplace. This summer is expected for the BTT-powered blockchain app ‘’BitTorrent Speed’’ to be presented as a part of BitTorrent’s Windows-based µTorrent Classic client and according to the website, the app is supposed to let users exchange BTT for seeding in order to support faster download time.
BitTorrent was created in 2004 and now has more than 100 million users in its p2p network. The integration with TRON is perceived as the ‘’Project Atlas’’ which has a goal of creating a decentralized platform for content distributing but by using cryptocurrency.
TRON is currently ranked as the 8th largest cryptocurrency by market cap and is trading at $0.0258 which means is up to 0.25 percent on a daily basis.
