BitBoy dropped the lawsuit (defamation lawsuit) against Atozy, after people donated in droves on Atozy’s GoFundMe page, and his defense totaled in the range of $200,000.
Ben Armstrong, the founder of Bitboy Crypto, has announced that he is withdrawing his defamation claim against fellow YouTube video producer Erling Mengshoel Jr., also known as Atozy.
Armstrong formally launched the action against Mengshoel Jr. on August 12 in response to a Nov 2021 video titled “This YouTuber scams his fans… Bitboy Crypto” in which it was claimed that Armstrong was dishonestly pushing questionable assets to his audience such as PAMP for his personal advantage. He was suing for $75,000 in damages as a result of the event.
However, Armstrong said in a live stream on August 24 that he is now withdrawing the charge since Mengshoel Jr. raised more than $200,000 for his defense.
The crypto YouTuber explained that he first submitted the lawsuit in order to force Mengshoel Jr. to remove the video and that he didn’t want to go through with the judicial processes.
However, Armstrong added that because Atozy now has enough money to fund legal fees, and with notable crypto trader/podcasters like Cobie (Jordan Fish) giving $100,000 to the cause, the conflict has escalated beyond his expectations. So, BitBoy dropped the lawsuit against Atozy by saying:
“So we are gonna drop the lawsuit, 100% and I’m sorry this became public, I’m sorry that this has been misconstrued, but I just want you guys to understand why I was doing this. This was not about a slapstick lawsuit.”
“When someone implies that you could be in trouble from the SEC, that is not frivolous guys, that’s a very serious matter. And so from my perspective, trying to defend my reputation, trying to get him to remove the video that literally has wrong information in it, that was all I wanted,” he also added.
Atozy’s video is still available and has approximately 190,000 views as of this writing. Armstrong begged Mengshoel Jr. to at least cut sections of the video that he found offensive during the Bitboy webcast. However, Armstrong concluded that Atozy had “won.”
From what I’ve heard Bitboy will be pulling the lawsuit.
I’m blown away from the support.
In less than 24 hours we raised roughly $200,000 USDOnce I have the confirmation it’s officially pulled. I will be refunding everyone who donated.
Thank you guys for saving me.

In a statement, Atozy stated that nothing has been addressed because he is still waiting for official confirmation from his lawyer that the lawsuit was dropped with “prejudice.”
Atozy said that he was told by his lawyer that if it is not with prejudice Bitboy can refile any time he wants. He went on further to thank everyone who donated and assured them that once official confirmation has come through, he will refund the money to all those who donated.
