8 million and he shared the video with the title “Idiot Spends $1.8 million on BTC on Old Hondas” by saying how he regrets spending huge amount of BTC at today’s prices.
The first car in question was a Honda NXS Targa which he purchased on Valentine’s Day in 2017 and claimed that he got it for a great price of $30,500 which he paid in BTC. On the day he purchased the car in 2017, BTC was trading at a few thousands of dollars so the car cost him 30.5 BTC while in today’s prices, it could have brought him $1.5 million. He added that he parted with the rest 6.5 BTC to pay for another Honda on a Black Friday event in 2018 when BTC was trading at $4,300 which could have been worth $293,000 today. Cut revealed that he wasn’t really bothered about paying in BTC for the cars at that time but four years later he realized he made a huge mistake:
“But then I started doing some math and it made me kick myself in the ass and I feel pretty depressed. I obviously have regrets about that because I can buy a lot of NSXs today for that price. […] Essentially I turned 37 Bitcoins into 2 Bitcoins.”
Cut is not the first person to sell his crypto stash to purchase something with it as Dogecoin founder Bill Markus also sold off all his DOGE stash in 2015 for a used Honda Civic as well but he never actually confirmed that he made the purchase. The biggest regretful purchase was the BTC pizza which was the first thing ever bought using BTC back in 2010 which would now cost a staggering $500 million.
