The major social video platform YouTube admits that there was an error with some of the cryptocurrency-related videos which were deleted by the giant this month. After several days of unilateral deletions and a lot of buzz in the Bitcoin and altcoin news, the video giant finally put an end to the non-communication and responded to a group of users.
A couple of hours ago, the video giant responded via Twitter to one YouTuber named Carl The Moon regarding his crypto-related videos which have been removed from the platform this week. In the tweet, YouTube admits that it was an error and wrote:
“Hey there, this was an error on our side during the review process – your video should be reinstated and strikes resolved. Let us know if you’re seeing otherwise!”
Finally an official response from YouTube! Good news!
However, I’ve learnt a valuable lesson, not to trust or be too dependent on a central authority.
I will try to “decentralize” my audience from now on!
This “mistake” created some serious issues for us YouTubers. https://t.co/Xhcvv6a1UP

Following the statement from @TeamYouTube, the YouTuber Carl the Moon said that he can confirm that his warnings and strikes were removed and most of the other censored YouTubers have also had their strikes removed.
Even though YouTube admits to the platform’s mistake, there are still numerous YouTubers which were impacted over the holidays by what was seen as an apparent ban on crypto-related videos in the latest crypto news.
On December 26, the YouTuber Michelle M. who is known for hosting the MamaeCrypto channel also tweeted and said that she is trying not to let the YouTube ban ruin her vacation.
Carl The Moon also explained that while his videos are back up and online, his trust in YouTube has definitely been lost. As he said, despite the fact that YouTube admits their mistake now, “this has severely impacted YouTubers business.”
“However, the biggest thing I have learnt as a Youtuber is to not trust Youtube,” he continued.
Besides this man, we can see that the decentralized content sharing and publishing platform LBRY (used by over 500,000 people) told media that nearly 200,000 people started following the platform in the last month. Their Twitter account, @LBRYio recently tweeted a notice to the impacted YouTubers to sync their content to library in case YouTube starts deleting videos again.
Please sync your content to LBRY if you haven't already.
You never know if this could happen again.
Creators on LBRY have their publishing keys in their wallet, with no ability for interference or censorship.

Many big players shared their thoughts about the move recently. As YouTube admits their mistake, even the Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao spoke and said:
“This is a good example of a short term setback, but probably good in the long term. Will let new platforms emerge with better freedom. People will create content and post them elsewhere.”
