According to the World Economic Forum, there are more than 60 blockchain use cases for solving all the serious environmental challenges that are endangering our planet.
The Swiss-based World Economic Forum issued a report named ‘’Building Block(chain) for a Better Planet’’. In that report, you can see all the highlighted blockchain solutions that can potentially be used to help ourselves to help our planet. The report shows ways on hot to deal with all the serious environmental challenges.
According to the WEF, these ideas or solutions given in the report can boost the protection efforts in many ways. For example, we can come up with new financing models for the environmental result. Also, rather than improving already existing processes, in the report, we can see that there is a possibility mentioned to introduce a brand new blockchain solution. This solution is called the ‘’game changer’’. It’s expected to transform the ways we manage environmental issues.
As a part of the ‘’game changer,’’ we could introduce better supply chains, decentralized energy, and improved water management systems. Once we make an outline of the solutions, the next important thing to do is introduce blockchain applications to an improved global blockchain ecosystem.
The WEF also addressed the problem of excessive using of this technology that is caused by the hype around it. In order to start solving this problem, the organization proposed three major questions that need answering: is a functioning ecosystem of stakeholders available, can this technology solve a specifically given problem and will the consequences be easily managed.
Most importantly, the report also argues that with the growing popularity of this technology, comes the embracement from all major governments and that is by all means, unavoidable.
