Julian Assange is a known bitcoin fan. Back in 2017, he tweeted that ‘’Bitcoin is the real Occupy Wall Street.’’ Supporters around the world are protesting to get Assange released from prison after he was dragged and arrested from the Embassy of Ecuador in London. He was living there since 2012.
Assange was arrested after the embassy of Ecuador withdrew its asylum protection. The U.S Department of Justice has charged Assange with conspiracy and hacking into a classified government computer along with ex-intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning. Allegedly, Assange conspired with Manning in order to get the password for a computer at the Department of Defense connected to the Secret Internet Protocol Network.
Journalists across the world are supporting Assange saying that he was arrested for something that good journalists should to which is expose corrupt criminals. Democrat Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard stated:
“The arrest of Julian Assange is meant to send a message to all Americans and journalists: Be quiet, behave, toe the line. Or you will pay the price.”
Tucker Carlson, the host of Fox News also pointed out that the only reason why Julian Assange was arrested and targeted was that he humiliated the Democratic Party. He leaked all the internal emails which proved that the media was urged to spike the Hillary Clinton campaign in 2016 by throwing mud on Trump’s name.
Hillary Clinton seemed happy for the arrest and she even stated:
“The bottom line is, he has to answer for what he has done.’’
If Assange is found guilty, he could be spending five years in jail.
