Craig Wright is in the altcoin news again, this time for his Bitcoin address ownership. The infamous creator of Bitcoin SV (BSV), has recently introduced himself to be the infamous and self-proclaimed creator of Bitcoin (with an alias Satoshi Nakamoto). However, as soon as this statement was made, the US District Court took action – and now issued an order that requires the self-proclaimed Satoshi Nakamoto to produce a list of all of his public Bitcoin (BTC) addresses.
This order is a fresh topic in the latest cryptocurrency news and part of an ongoing case against Wright which was filed by the estate of computer scientist David Kleiman – claiming that Wright stole hundreds of thousands of BTC. The coins were allegedly worth over $5 billion dollars in February last year when Kleiman’s estate first sued Wright. Right now, the US District Court of the Southern District of Florida has a number of the plaintiffs’ requests.
For instance, the court asks to order Wright to produce a list of the public addresses of Bitcoin that he owned as of December 31st, 2013 – as well as make him identify all of the Bitcoin that was allegedly transferred to a blind trust in 2011, producing documents related to the said trust. Furthermore, the US District Court wants Wright to identify under oath the true identity of the current and past trustees and beneficiaries of the trust.
As per the latest request, the US District Court wants to “permit further deposition of Dr. Wright with regard to his ownership and control over his Bitcoins.” In the document, we can also see that the court has reconsidered its order on Wright’s previously filed motion to seal information (related to his Bitcoin holdings). Aside from denying Wright’s motion regarding the list of Bitcoin addresses, the US court order states:
“On or before May 15, 2019, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern time, Dr. Wright shall produce all transactional records of the blind trust, including but not limited to any records reflecting the transfer of bitcoin into the blind trust in or about 2011. The production shall be accompanied by a sworn declaration of authenticity.”
As many best cryptocurrency news sites already reported at the end of 2018, a US court already rejected the repeated requests from Wright to dismiss the Kleiman case.
