As of today, Saturday, April 3, most of the top 20 cryptocurrencies reported slight losses to press time while Bitcoin is hovering above the $5,100 price point. In the coming altcoin news, we check the price analysis.
The price of the number one cryptocurrency is up about 0.5% today and is trading at $5,107 at press time. The data from CoinMarketCap shows that the current price is also up by half a percent compared to the price at the start of the week.
Ethereum (ETH) is still clinging to its position as the largest altcoin by market cap which reached up to $17.4 billion. Ethereum has seen almost zero percent change over the past day. Currently, it is trading at about $165. Over the week, the altcoin didn’t report any valuable change but it did report a mid-week high reaching $184 back on Monday. Ethereum core developers also pointed out that they are considering more frequent hard forks in the future.
The second largest altcoin Ripple, on the other hand, has a total market cap of $13.7 billion. Ripple (XRP) is seeing a slight loss over the 24 hours to press time and is now trading at $0.327. If you take a look at the weekly charts, the current price of XRP is about 8 percent lower than what it was a week ago.
Of course, one of the coins that gained the most is Binance Coin (BNB) among all other cryptocurrencies. The BNB coin increased up to three percent and has seen some slight gains over the week as well.
The market cap of all cryptocurrencies is now at $173.1 billion which is almost two percent lower than the previous $175.6 where it was a week ago.
