One of the Bitcoin’s biggest bulls and the co-founder of the world’s largest company (Apple) recently said it…
“Bitcoin is amazing, but blockchain is a bubble.”
This statement has been on par with the dotcom bubble that occurred at the turn of the millennium. Wozniak also said that he sees parallels between the development of the Internet and the hype circle that accompanied it – as well as the burgeoning blockchain industry.
As Wozniak said in an interview on Tuesday as reported by CNBC, “It was a bubble, and I feel that way about blockchain.”
A couple of months ago, Wozniak also said that he hopes that Bitcoin will become the world’s global currency. However, this time he did not seem so confident – at least not as much as he soured on blockchain technology’s potential to disrupt a variety of industries. According to Wozniak, blockchain could transform social networks and many other industries all thanks to the startups based on blockchain.
“If you look now you say all that internet stuff happened, we got it, it just took a while,” Wozniak told the press. “It doesn’t change in a day, a lot of the blockchain ideas that are really good by coming out early they can burn themselves out by not being prepared to be stable in the long run.”
In his earlier statements, Wozniak favored Bitcoin and Ethereum – seeing the former as digital gold and the latter as a robust platform that could become “the next Apple”.
