The co-founder at Apple, Steve Wozniak, has commented positively about the state of cryptocurrencies and the blockchain technology in his opening speech at the WeAreDevelopers World Congress 2018 that took place in Vienna, Austria.
As Cointelegraph auf Deutsch reported on May 16th, Wozniak is confident in seeing blockchain and cryptocurrencies achieving their full potential. He sees them as a “great idea” stating that:
“[Blockchain] is the next major IT revolution that is about to happen.”
Wozniak even explained how he sees blockchain in the future, saying that there are many useful applications for the technology in many areas. According to him, the blockchain and cryptocurrencies will achieve their full potential in a decade from now.
Apple’s co-founder also quoted the CEO of Twitter Jack Dorsey, who previously said that Bitcoin will become “the world’s single currency”.
What’s interesting is the fact that this is not the first time Steve Wozniak has made positive comments about cryptocurrencies and blockchain. Before Vienna, he said that “Bitcoin is better than gold and the US dollar” at the Money 20/20 conference in Las Vegas.
According to Wozniak, Bitcoin has a massive advantage because it comes in a limited amount of coins – compared to fiat money which can only be printed by banks. However, he also said that he sold all of his Bitcoins except for one because “he does not want to be an investor and constantly watch the prices”.
