The anonymous creator of Bitcoin Satoshi Nakamoto is in our bitcoin news today after ranking 44th at the world’s top 100 global finance leaders leaving billionaire Mark Zuckerberg behind.
According to Worth.com, Satoshi is the 44th most powerful person in the finance world for creating the world’s first peer-to-peer cash payment protocol which grew to be a multi-billion dollar market.
Bitcoin made possible for people to send and receive payments between them without the need of an intermediary since all of the data is recorded and stored on a public ledger-blockchain. There are plenty of companies such as IBM and MasterCard the blockchain and many of them improved their revenues and businesses in general. The number one cryptocurrency also proved to also work great as a tool to fight the inflation in the fiat system.
About 980,000 bitcoins are believed to belong to Satoshi making his/her net worth $19.4 billion. If Nakamoto decides to cash out, the market will probably collapse and bitcoin’s value will crash.
Nakamoto was once nominated for the Nobel Prize for Economic Sciences but the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences pointed out that an award cannot be awarded anonymously or posthumously.
The 27th position belongs to the former chief executive officer of Digital Asset Holdings Blythe Masters. She left the company in December 2018 for personal reasons. Another crypto-supporting person at position 72 is the CEO of Bakkt Kelly Loeffler. She posted:
‘’If Bakkt succeeds, it will not only boost investor trust and access to Bitcoin as an asset, it will also give ICE a serious edge over the myriad other startups trying to corner this emerging market.’’
